1981: Princess Diana got married, and my love for all things wedding was born. I loved the details, the dress, the flowers… everything about it. After many successful Barbie weddings, I took a break from my career as a wedding planner, grew up, and took myself off to university in Stellenbosch, where I fell in love with everything the Cape has to offer. Now I’m based in London, with a day job in publishing and a major blogging habit. I still have a passion for wedding details, and I love seeing amazing design and clever ideas, especially when these combine to create something truly personal and special for a couple.
Cap Classique came from having seen many of my friends over here struggle to find information on the net to help plan their weddings at home, and also a desire to promote South African venues and suppliers, which I think are some of the best in the world! I’m passionate about the Cape, and very proudly South African.
So why Cap Classique?
Cap Classique is the SA equivalent to French champagne, a sparkling wine made using the Methode Champenoise. In other words: Celebration – South African style!
The blog focuses on weddings and service providers from Cape Town, South Africa, but I take inspiration from all over the world. If you’d like me to feature your wedding or service, or if you’d just like to say hello, please get in touch! I’d love to hear from you.
